Bear World and Wedding

We went to Idaho Falls because Nathan's cousin, Kylie, was getting married.  We decided since it was so close to the 4th of July that we would just stay longer to hang out with family.  We were thinking about heading up to Yellowstone so Easton could see some Bison, but we went to Bear World instead.  It worked out nicely because the wedding was only about 10 minutes away from Bear World.

Easton for whatever reason kept riding by himself.  He must have wanted to ride the rides in a particular order and the rest of the family was not on the same page.

I think this was Dyer's favorite ride.

Finally everyone got on board and rode the same ride together.  Dyer was not a fan of this ride.

We drove around again so that Dyer could look at all the animals.  He was sleeping the first time we went through.  The Bison were actually up and walking around and we also got to see the wolf the second time as well.

Wedding:

The grounds at the wedding were beautiful and it was really nice that they had this fun little playground off in the back so the kids had something to do most of the time.  It was ridiculously hot though and we were all dying!  I had the boys in sweater vests for maybe 30 minutes before we took those off because they were sweating so much.

Gymnastics, Swim, and Naps

This was Blair's last day of gymnastics for her latest session.  They still want her in the same class next time.  I was a little annoyed hearing this because I swear every time her teacher (she seems to have a new one every session) says to put her in one more time and then she will be ready to move on to the next level.  Blair has improved a lot and I was sure she was going to move up this time. They actually combined Blair's class (leaping leopards) with the class she'll eventually be moving up to (jumping jaguars) and put Blair and another girl with the jaguars every week.  Blair was actually doing really well compared to the other girls and I thought for sure she would be moved up.  Oh well, I guess since Blair will be missing a 6 week session it will be good to be in the same class again.  

I forgot that I had some swim pictures/videos on my other camera.  My camera battery isn't holding a charge very well anymore so I've been using my old camera off and on lately.  

Dyer's officially in the "I don't want to take a nap anymore" stage but most days he still needs one.  He'll fight me for over an hour before I finally give in and just let him stay up.  Then right around dinner time it's not uncommon to find him somewhere around the house doing this....

He almost fell asleep eating dinner the other night.  I washed him up and told him to go lay down on the couch for a little bit and sure enough within a minute he was out cold.  

Dyer's Swim Lessons

Dyer didn't want anything to do with swimming the first week of lessons.  Valerie had to get into the water the first day to get Dyer into the water.  Dyer wouldn't even get in on the second day and the rest of the first week he just sat on the stairs playing with all the water toys.

The second week Dyer jumped right in to his teacher and never looked back.  He was really excited everyday to get in and do what his teacher asked him to do.  He actually ended up passing the class!

It wasn't until after I took this picture that I realized I was taking a picture of Dyer almost drowning.  The thing they were standing on was away from the side of the pool so when Dyer slipped he had nothing to push against to keep his head above the water.  The same thing happened to two other kids in his class about 30-60 seconds after Dyer.

On the last day of class the kids got to play in the splash area for the last 10 minutes of class.  Dyer decided to go down the slide, but I'm pretty sure he regretted it once he flipped over and inhaled a ton of water.

Blair's Swim Lessons

Blair was a little nervous but mostly excited about swim lessons (in the beginning).  She did really well her first couple days but then gradually she did less and less.  There was one day where I couldn't even get her to get in the water.  She wasn't a fan of her teacher and because of it I think she shut down and didn't want to do anything he asked her to do.  I personally thought he had no patience and was kind of mean.  It was annoying that she wouldn't do anything at her lesson because she would get into Valerie's pool after swim lessons and do exactly what her teacher wanted her to do.  She probably could have passed her class if she would have showed her teacher what she knew how to do.  Blair even told me after her session that she wants to do swim again!  I don't know if that is going to happen since I really don't want to waste my money or time again!  We'll see though!
