May 2026 Circus, Kindergarten fun, Choir, Marathon

Kindergarten Piggy Opera:

This video was too large so I had to take a video of the video so the quality isn't great!

Eden was one of the narrators:
"The three pigs promised to write and visit. They were a little sad too. Each pig looked for something to build their house. The first little pig met a straw peddler."

They finally got Easton's plaque!

Blair's end of the year choir concert:

Nathan decided to run a marathon. He convinced one of his brothers and one of his sisters to run with him but they decided to run a 1/2 marathon instead.

Eden got to do the morning announcements at her school. KK was super jealous! Apparently she's been wanting to do it for a couple years now and hasn't been given the chance...

Eden practicing

I should have went out to the hallway when she did it for real. They told me that I could film her either from the principal's office (that's where I went) or in the hallway. They said the office gets kind of loud. I assumed that there was a speaker in the principals office but it turned out there wasn't. There was just a little window. It was a great view of Eden but it was really hard to hear what she was saying. Oh well! She did great and it was fun to see her in action!

Field Day:
I signed up to help in the morning (older grades) for field day. I got to see KK's class!

I went home for lunch and to let Beau out but then decided to go back and hang out with Eden's class. I realized really quickly that it was probably a good thing that I didn't help out in Eden's class this year like I hoped I would (I really wanted to help out about once a week but her teacher never asked me. I think they had way too many aids in the classroom to feel like they needed any parents to come in).  Eden was definitely putting on her "baby" side while I was there. I finally told her that I would leave if she continued to act/talk like a baby. She straightened up pretty quickly so maybe she would have been fine with me there...
I've had her teacher and all the aids in her class tell me multiple times how mature she is so my presence must bring out her baby side...I don't understand why because I don't feel like I baby her. In fact I'm always reminding her to use her big girl voice the second she starts talking like a baby...

Kindergarten Graduation:

Eden had another speaking part at her graduation.

"Welcome to Kindergarten Graduation. We hope you enjoy the songs we have prepared for you."

Eden had a great year with Ms. Tahiri!

Flag football

KK decided to play flag football with Blakely. She didn't want to be on a co-ed team so she had to "play up" to play in the all girls league. There were plenty of girls KK's age so I don't exactly know why they just don't lower the age but hopefully in a few years they will have a lot more girls so they can have at least 2 girl leagues. It was a bit crazy to see 3rd graders playing with/against 8th graders. That's probably why they they have the age limit so it isn't such a big age gap!

Blakely was the main QB for her team so most of the videos of her are her throwing or passing to other teammates. KK played mostly defense but she occasionally got to play offense.

Haha! Apparently Blakely mixed up the play. KK wasn't the person who was supposed to get the ball so she was so confused and hesitated!

Passing touch down!

KK was just shy getting the extra 2 points.

Blakely extra point.

KK touchdown!

I was sad that I missed over half of their games this spring season. I missed one because I went to Nathan's sister's baby shower. I missed another because Nathan was running a marathon in Ogden (they added this game last minute). Then we all missed the last two tournament games because we went to Puerto Rico. Their team ended up getting 2nd place even though they were undefeated in regular play. I wonder if they lost because Blakely and KK weren't there. Oops! I felt so bad about them not being there, especially since Blakely was their main QB but I feel like it was poor planning on the leagues part. Fall season they played the championship game mid week (I can't remember if it was Wednesday or Thursday) at night. School got out on a Thursday so I assumed that the championship game would happen before school got out for the summer. They ended up having the games two days after school got out! Not only that, but it was also Memorial weekend!?! Who does that?!? Anyways out flight for Puerto Rico left early Friday morning so the girls missed out. Their team either lost by 1 or 3 points!

The girls had a blast! I'm curious to see what KK decides to do in the Fall...flag football, soccer, dance, tumbling? It will be interesting to find out!

April 2026 "Sumo wrestling", high school play, Eden turns 6, Prom

Yes, during conference and Easter, KK decided to make herself a "fat suit".

Eventually Eden wanted in on the action too!

Let the wrestling games begin!

Our next door neighbors had a nice Easter party at their house the night before. The kids dyed eggs and decorated cookies.

I had fun doing Blakely's hair for the Wizard of Oz play.

It turns out the Blakely likes getting her hair done. I always thought she didn't like it so I stopped doing her hair consistently for years now...She told me that one of the things she loves about going to Grandma Gretch's house is that she always styles her hair! I feel like I missed out on years of doing fun hair styles on her. We will need to fix this!

It's crazy how much thicker her hair is than her other sisters. She's also super tall so when I try and fix it while she's eating breakfast, I have to stand on a stool so I'm tall enough to reach the top of her head. Haha!

Flying Monkey!

I decided to help out back stage because I wasn't sure how Eden would behave during the shows. It's a long time for little ones! Turns out that my child was an angel compared to some others. Who would have thought?!?

It was fun to see Blair back stage doing hair and make up on a lot of the actors/actresses. She wasn't happy that I was taking pictures of her but I realized that she's been helping out with the school plays for the last 3 years and I haven't seen her in action! I know secretly she loved it!

Blakely-Emerald City person

Haha! I think that is Blair in the stage wings!

KK and Eden- flying monkeys

I forgot to take pictures of Nathan and me wearing the shirts we found at Walmart. The shirt reads, "It's all fun & games until the flying monkeys attack" It was meant to be because it was a picture of a person getting attacked by 2 flying monkeys!

I meant to add hair to my person and I think it would have been fun to add KK and Eden's names or had them sign their names!

This was Eden's favorite part-getting held by the flying monkey leader (Emily)! Emily definitely had a ton of patience for Eden and many of the little ones. Eden was always super jealous when she wasn't getting all of Emily's attention.

Blakely had fun using AI to make their pictures more fun!

The girls had a lot of fun and are excited for future plays at the high school!

We decided to have Eden's party on her actual birthday! It took me most of the day while they were at school to set up for her party.

Birthday girl!

Blakely and KK had flag football practice (KK was super upset that she couldn't skip practice) so we opened "family" gifts before Eden's friends came over.

I forgot to get pictures of the cupcakes before the party. Oops!

Eden had a blast at her first friend party! She's already planning/scheming for next years party!

I should have taken more pictures of the activities we did...
Blair helped me get all the mermaid ready (face jewels and glitter, star fish hair clips, nail stickers).

They did a relay race in the grass. They had to put on a mermaid tail and "army crawl" across the grass to buckets filled with water beads. They had to dig through them to find specific items and bring them back (star fish, pearls, mermaid tails, sea shells, etc.) I think the girls had fun with this until some were getting rashes from the grass (Eden included) oops!

They also had a mermaid treasure hunt that took them all over the house! They loved all the treasure in the treasure chest (bubbles, necklaces, candy necklaces, rings, ring pops, shell mirrors/brushes, chocolate coins).

Blair got asked to prom by Nolan.
We didn't have much time to find her a dress. We did go dress shopping 5 days before prom (5 different stores) but we didn't really find anything she loved. She decided she was just going to use a skirt I actually wore in high school (haha!) but she wanted a different shirt-not glittery. Do you know how hard it is to find a dressier shirt that is the correct shade of blue and comes in just a couple days?!? I ended up buying 2 online that I thought would work. One wasn't even close shade wise. Luckily the other one was close enough! Look at the last pictures (back of Blair) to see what the back of her shirt looks like.

I'm so glad that Blair decided to do an updo because the rest of the girls were struggling with their hair blowing in their faces.

Blair wanted me to do her hair similar to Julia Stiles' prom hairstyle in 10 things I hate about you.

Blair said she had a fun time!

Haha! reenacting titanic!
