Blakely flag football

Blakely had the best time playing flag football. I was secretly hoping she would reenact her one touchdown back when she was in Kindergarten (fake handoff and cackling all the way to the end zone) but no such luck! She got to play with two girls from her basketball (madness) team and one of her best friends from school. They ended up winning the championship game and got a ring and t-shirt. Blakely can't wait for spring flag football to start up.

Touchdown!

One of the girls on Blakely's team broke her leg at practice and was out the rest of the season.

Dyer football

Dyer had a great football year. He was a starter on the Freshman team as an offensive lineman (#67-everyone loved teasing him "six-seven"). He played on the JV team for one quarter. I wonder if he would have got more playing time on JV if they didn't play on the same night. I guess they can play only 4 quarters a day but can play 5 quarters in a week. The day he played on JV the Freshman played the night before so he was eligible to play only 1 quarter for JV. They took all the starters from the Freshman team and let them play in the last quarter. Dyer got to dress down for Varsity for the last 3 games! I thought he was going to play for a few plays in the first game. They even called him over but for some strange reason they put another guy in instead of Dyer. I think they mixed them up?!? Anyways, it was a bummer that he didn't get to play but he got a lot of extra practice! It will be fun to see where he ends up next year!

Dyer plays on JV:
I wasn't even sure if they were going to let the Freshman play since it was a little closer game than I think they wanted. I kept overhearing the coaches debating if they were going to put them in. I think it was the last 3 minutes of the game that they finally put the Freshman in and on the very first play they scored a touchdown!!! Take that coaches! They should have put them in sooner!

Dyer dressed down for Varsity #65 (they didn't have the number #67 for Varsity).

Sept 2025 Rock climbing, school, Blakely turns 12!

We took the family rock climbing on Labor Day. Dyer isn't a fan of rock climbing but when Culvers is mentioned, he'll tag along! Haha!

Blair lead climbing

Haha! "Wearing" Blair's helmet that is way too small for him!

Blakely made it to the top!

Eden attempted!
That's about as high as she would go and Nathan had to hold on to her the whole time!

I made it to the top too!

Picture day!
Good thing I remembered to take a picture of Eden because for some reason the photography place mixed her up with someone else in her class. She wasn't the only one. Their system messed everything up. I think less than 10% of the whole school got the correct pictures. I had to email them telling them that the picture I got was not Eden. We emailed back and forth a couple times but eventually I just sent them this picture and they found Eden right away!

KK is already not a morning person and she was definitely not happy this particular day. I tried to get a good picture of her but she was being difficult! Good thing they got her picture correct because I'm not sure which picture I would have sent them to find her...

Yep that's all she gave me...
As her Aunt Chandra says, "She's a little angel!"

KK was in a better mood when I picked her up from school. She was so excited to show me her uncrustable from lunch! She got two in one package!

We got Eden a new bike hoping she would finally be excited to learn to ride a bike. NOPE! She was excited about the bike but she has no desire to learn. She is more than happy to keep the training wheels on.

KK's teacher challenged her class to make field trips to landmarks around the magic valley. If they took a picture next to it they would get extra points!

Perrine Bridge (walk across)
Walking across the bridge was actually kind of scary! The bridge would shake whenever cars came across. I never thought I had a fear of heights but after looking down at the middle of the bridge I might actually have a fear of heights...It made me really nervous to have KK walking across the bridge. It felt like there was no good place for her. I didn't want her next to the railing because I didn't want her to fall to her death but I also didn't want her near the traffic. Yes, there is a barrier between us and the cars but still scary! Plus it was super windy!

We did see someone base jump. That was crazy! Kind of neat but also frightening at the same time! I don't know how anyone could ever do that!

Where the base jumpers land.

We weren't sure what Evel Knievel jump monument meant. They had this right next to the visitors center but they also have the actual jump site about 2 miles away. We decided to visit both!

Perrine Coulee Falls

We tried to go to the Snake River Canyon (must visit bottom) but the park was closed for the rest of the month. The bridge in the background is what KK and I walked across!

On another day we went to Shoshone Falls
Apparently September is not the time to go to Shoshone Falls. It was disappointing! I felt bad for the few people who were there because it was hardly flowing at all! They call Shoshone Falls the "Niagara of the West". It is 45 ft higher than Niagara Falls.

This is what it can look like in the spring! I took this picture May 2024.

We also went to Twin Falls (waterfall)

Blakely finally let me do her hair!

Blair's back in Production and Design for the school plays. She is in charge of hair and makeup this year. Their first play was the "Puffs"-comedy about Harry Potter but from the Hufflepuff point of view. Blair made this wig for the Hermione Character.

KK gave me a plant for mother's day and Nathan helped her plant it in the garden. It started out as just a single little sprout and eventually took over this part of the garden!

Just a boy and his dog!

Blakely turned 12!

Makeup!

Electric toothbrush! She's been begging for one! Haha!

She also wanted a heating blanket but got her a heating mattress pad instead.

I know this is KK but Blakely wanted to play night games at the park for her birthday party. We decided to have a glow theme.
They played groundies, ghosts in the graveyard, and capture the glowstick. We had to get kind of creative at times because the sprinklers decided to come on in sections. We had to keep moving to try and avoid getting wet. I think everyone got at least a little wet. Oops! The kids were so loud that I was worried that a neighbor would call the cops but luckily that didn't happen.

I saw a cupcake recipe where the cupcakes glowed under a blacklight. I thought it would be cool to try it. I probably should have experimented before the party because it only glowed a little bit and they were disgusting! The texture and taste were nasty! Had I known this I probably wouldn't have done it at all or if I did, it would have only been a couple cupcakes-just for looks. I felt bad after the fact that I served them because they were gross! As soon as I got home and tried one I threw them all away! Epic fail!
