Children's Museum and Egg Hunt

We were planning on going to the Oregon Zoo but it started raining (of course) as we were driving there so we decided to hit up the Children's Museum next door instead.  Dyer still wasn't feeling well so he was a stinker most of the time we were there.  Dyer and I (Blakely too) only saw about half the museum because he just cried/pouted and didn't want to do much of anything.  I think everyone else had fun.  Easton and Blair wanted to go back again so they must have had fun.  Thank goodness we went with family so Easton and Blair could enjoy themselves because it would have been a nightmare if we all had to endure Dyer.  Most of the boys went with Jana and the girls went with Jacqui.

Look at Dyer...Imagine 2+ hours of this (with crying/whiny noises) and that was basically my entire trip to the Children's Museum. Sigh....

It got a little tiring watching Dyer complain about the thing he wanted to build but couldn't build but didn't want help building and didn't want to leave.  Ahhhh!  That boy!  We just finally tuned him out and played with the camera instead!

Blair had fun scanning items.  Dyer on the other hand just sat there complaining that he was soooo hungry.  Thank goodness for Gma and getting him a snack!

He finally seemed like he was having a good time here!  I should have just brought him into this room from the beginning but I just didn't want him to get all wet and be miserable the rest of the day.

Easter Egg Hunt:

My sister Jana put on her own egg hunt at the park just down the street from my mom's house.  She invited a bunch of her friends and asked that each kid bring 6-10 eggs each.  Each kid got to find as many eggs as they brought.  The hunt started out with okay weather, but half way through it started pouring and then hailing.  Crazy!  As soon as the hunt was over everyone jumped into their cars.  Right when I finished buckling the kids in, the rain stopped.  My sister's idea of doing her own hunt was so much better!  We didn't have to fight any crowds and each kid got eggs so everyone left happy!

I snapped a few pictures of the kids even though it was raining.  I got some rain drops on my camera lens so each pictures has a rain spot on it.

I forgot this little dude was funny.  He passed up several eggs along the way because he had to have specific colors.  They would have all been blue and green but after Blair found all the eggs she could get, she started picking up eggs for Dyer and putting them in his basket.  Such a great sister!  I'm actually surprised that he didn't throw a fit about her helping him.  He was complaining that he was cold and wet though : (

Dyer curled up on the couch and took a nap.  You can always tell when he isn't feeling well because he'll put himself down for a nap.  Poor dude wouldn't stop whining and crying.

We went out to eat at Big Al's and each of the kids got a $5 card (with their meal) to spend on video games.

Trip to Washington

Easton had two weeks off for Spring Break so I decided to take the kids up to Washington to see family.  On the way up we stopped at McDonald's (of course) to eat.  It just so happened that we stopped at one that had a play place and it had some fun instruments that made music when you played on them.

The kids had fun playing on the toys but looking back I probably shouldn't have let them play as long as I did because we got to Portland right in the middle of rush hour traffic.  There was a wreck too so it took forever to get across the bridge into Washington.  I'm definitely not a fan of traffic but when you have traveled 9+ hours with 4 kids before getting stuck in traffic, it SUCKS!  All of us were beyond done before we hit traffic so you can only imagine what it was like that after that!  We were so excited when we finally made it to Grandma's house!

I was organizing the playroom the other day and because there was way too many things for Blakely to put into her mouth I put her in a bucket to keep her safe.  I think she really likes being in buckets and laundry baskets.

I tired putting Blakely's hair in a ponytail just to see what it looked like.  It definitely looked ridiculous and the kids didn't like it so one of them eventually pulled it out.  She was in the middle of eating when Valerie snapped a picture.

Blair and Dyer decided to get into Valerie's pool the other day.  It was maybe 70 degrees out.  So cold!

Blair had a playdate the other day and the girls put make up on each other.  They got permission before hand so all was good.  Blair actually was very proud of the way her makeup turned out!  I guess we have a lot of work to do once she actually starts wearing makeup on a regular basis.  Good thing we have about 7-8 more years!

Both preschool classes went on a field trip together to Safetyville.  They split the classes up so it was a little crazy walking back and forth to be with both classes.

End of March/Early April

Late last month I woke up around 6:30 to something rattling the front door.  I thought for sure someone was trying to break into my house.  We have a window right next to our front door so I was trying to look out of it from my bedroom doorway.  Of course it was just starting to get light outside so I really couldn't see anything.  The rattling stopped so I thought the person must have gave up or maybe they saw me and left.  About a minute goes by and it happens again.  I look at the window again and the next thing I see is Dexter (our cat) climbing the doorway outside our house.  By the time I got downstairs he was in the top corner holding on for dear life!  Dexter got out the night before and refused to come back in so I just left him outside for the night.  I told Nathan about the story later that day and afterwards he said, "It looks like you had a cat burglar!" 

He got out again today and it started raining so he wanted back in!

One Sunday afternoon Blair was watching a kid Bible movie and she yells down to me, "Mom, come watch a movie with me!  It's a God movie!"  I wasn't sure if I heard her right (I thought maybe she was saying, "It's a good movie!") so I asked her to repeat what she said.  "Come watch the God movie with me!.....I mean the Heavenly Father movie!  It's really special!" 

On April Fools Dyer came down for breakfast so I gave him a fake banana to eat.  He actually put it in his mouth and tried biting it!  Once he realized it was fake he threw it at me.  I asked him if he would like pancakes instead.  He got all excited until he realized they were fake too!  Again he threw them at me so I asked if he wanted an egg.  "That's not real!  I want something ALIVE!"  I played the same trick on Blair and Easton but they were just confused at first and then thought it was funny!  I switched up the kids' clothes (Easton had Dyer's clothes and Dyer had Easton's clothes and then Blair had Blakely's clothes).  Blair was actually trying to get Blakely's dress on because she really thought it was hers.  They have the same exact dress!  Blair was really confused that she couldn't get is over her head!  Silly girl!  Easton and Blair thought it was hilarious.  I played a couple tricks on Easton's lunch and snack today so it will be fun to see what he thought about those later today!
