Mother's Day Pictures

I made the kids take pictures today for mother's day!

I had to throw this one in because Dyer kept showing me his muscles! Silly boy!

This one could have been cute if Blakely didn't look so terrified!

I like this picture better but it's too bad the sun is partly on Dyer's face....I tried to get him to step back a little but of course the bushes were poking him so he wouldn't cooperate....

Blair's best friend, Kiera, and her family invited us to go berry picking with them a couple weeks ago. We picked about 22 lbs of strawberries and made regular strawberry jam and jalapeno strawberry jam. The kids had a good time even though I'm pretty sure we all got really muddy feet. Dyer was the only smart one to bring his rain boots! Actually Dyer wears his rain boots every where and with everything (even shorts)! I'm actually surprised he hasn't tried to wear them to church yet!

This is what Dyer did almost the whole time. Splashing through the mud!

I got stuck in the mud, stepped out of my flip flop, and almost fell in the mud. Both my feet were caked with mud by the time we were finished!

Blakely did pretty well about not eating the strawberries but she still manage to sneak a few!

Pinewood Derby

Easton had his first pinewood derby this year and he ended up winning! He was so excited! Nathan and Easton made a red dinosaur (of course) car which Easton called Spiny.

One of the dad's at the derby race wanted to see Easton's car to get an idea of how to make their car faster next year. He flips the car over and shows his son how we placed the weights and decides that is how they are going to try it out next year. While the dad is examining Easton's car and talking to his son Easton is trying to tell him the real secret but unfortunately for him he wasn't listening! Haha! I was just chuckling inside!

Way to go Easton (and Dad)!

Easter

The kids were going to go to the local egg hunt but it ended up getting cancelled because of the rain. They told people to come to City Hall to collect eggs. I took the kids thinking that they would get about 5 eggs each. They each came away with a gallon sized ziploc bag full of eggs (about 20 eggs)! Blakely even got a special egg and got this fun Easter basket full of goodies on top of her 20 eggs. Is it bad that I almost hope that it gets rained out every year? We were in and out in less than 5 minutes and I'm sure they got way more eggs than they would have if they had the hunt.

I'm not sure what happened but I didn't get a single picture on Easter. I guess having 9:00 church makes it kind of difficult to take pictures while quickly having an egg hunt and getting ready for church. Next year I might wait and have the egg hunt after church. That way I won't be too rushed to get pictures.

Universal Studios Orlando

We had a ton of fun at Universal. We were there for three days but I think we easily could have done it in two. The kids were really excited about Harry Potter World and really wanted to get wands. They each got some money from Gma Whiting and they also did a bunch of chores around the house to earn the money. We didn't realize that they had interactive wands until two days before we left. The kids had enough money for the regular wands but since the interactive wands were only $10 more Nathan decided to pitch in and get those for the kids instead. The kids had fun casting spells all over Harry Potter World.

I'm not sure Blakely had much fun because she was too short to ride most of the rides. The other kids however benefited from her not being able to ride by riding most rides twice. Once with Dad and once with Mom.

I didn't really understand some of their height requirements on some rides though. Blakely was too short to go on a Dr. Seuss ride that was basically a train ride around Seuss land but she wasn't too short to go on a the Hippagriff roller coaster. REALLY!?! Also she was able to go on the Pteranodon Flyers ride. This was a two person ride where one person sits in front of the other person with your feet hanging from the ride. You are basically flying over everyone in the Jurassic play area. It was a fun ride but it was scary watching your two year old swinging probably 20+ feet in the air and only strapped in by a lap seat belt. Blakely loved both rides and wanted to ride them again.

Day 2:

The kids loved the water slide at Fievel's playland. I went on it with Blakely after she already went on it with Blair and Easton and was surprised how fast it went. I'm not sure if it was faster with me because I weigh more or if it was always fast but this is another one that I was surprised that she was able to go on without an adult.
