McKinley loved the idea of swim but really wasn't much of a fan once she was in the water. I think the main problem was the water was too cold (at least for the first month of swim lessons). She also didn't like putting her head under the water. I think she only finished two complete lessons. Nathan and I had to switch out to try and keep her in as long as possible. When Nathan was in with her eventually she would cry for me hoping she could get out. I would hop in and then eventually she would cry for Nathan. When she realized she wasn't getting out with us she would cry for Blair. Blair actually took over for one lesson because she wouldn't stop screaming for Blair.
Not a fan of the back float.
See how she was crying for me?
Swim lessons must have helped/been successful because over the summer when we were swimming she kept jumping into the water herself and she didn't want to get out of the water! Maybe it was her floaties that gave her confidence or the warmer water that made her want to stay in...but whatever the case you wouldn't have guessed that it was the same child.
