McKinley Swim

McKinley loved the idea of swim but really wasn't much of a fan once she was in the water.  I think the main problem was the water was too cold (at least for the first month of swim lessons).  She also didn't like putting her head under the water.  I think she only finished two complete lessons.  Nathan and I had to switch out to try and keep her in as long as possible.  When Nathan was in with her eventually she would cry for me hoping she could get out.  I would hop in and then eventually she would cry for Nathan.  When she realized she wasn't getting out with us she would cry for Blair.  Blair actually took over for one lesson because she wouldn't stop screaming for Blair.

Not a fan of the back float.

See how she was crying for me?

Swim lessons must have helped/been successful because over the summer when we were swimming she kept jumping into the water herself and she didn't want to get out of the water!  Maybe it was her floaties that gave her confidence or the warmer water that made her want to stay in...but whatever the case you wouldn't have guessed that it was the same child.

Blakely Swim

Poor Blakely didn't get as many pictures or videos as the rest of the kids.  It seems like she should have had twice as much since she had swim twice a week.  The problem was her swim lessons were during the week days when everyone (except Easton) was either at school or work.  I had to take McKinley with me and she can be difficult!

Blakely learned a lot!  I really liked that she had swim twice a week.  I wish that Dyer would have been able to take swim twice a week as well.

Blakely was a rock star at the dolphin stroke!  I'm surprised I didn't get a video of her doing that stoke because if she had it her way she would swim like that all the time!

Dyer Swim

Dyer was starting to catch on towards the end of swim lessons.  I wish that he would have been able to take another session with his teacher before we moved.

Blair swim

I always enjoy watching Blair swim.  She catches on quickly and is really fast.  I hope I can find a swim team for her when we move to California.

Easton swim

Easton and Blair were in the same stokes class.  This is the class you take before swim team.  I was hoping to put them in swim team this year but then I realized we would be moving about half way through the season.  Bummer!  They were both asked to join the team.
