February 2025 McKinley turns 8

KK loves climbing the rope. She's really the only one that will go all the way to the taped off part of the rope (they are only allowed to go up that far. They can't climb any higher).

Intermediate I

We signed KK up for a cheer camp at the high school

They performed at halftime at the boy's basketball game.

Eden's obsessed with BYU right now!

Waiting patiently for Ready, Set, Kindergarten to start.

KK loves to dance. We made her put earbuds in!

Beautiful Blair

For KK's birthday all she wanted was to go to Texas Roadhouse so she could ride on the saddle.

Birthday cake! She requested ice cream cake and cake pops!

Blakely hurricanes

I decided to put KK in swim lessons. My goal for her was for her to pass all the swim lessons before summer so she could swim on hurricanes with Blakely. That would give her about 5 months.
Beginner I

I lucked out and was able to have Blakely and KK swim on the same days and same time.

McKinley's baptism was just around the corner. I brought all her stuff with us to San Diego so we could get pictures there. I figured it would be a lot warmer there than in Idaho. We took a drive to the San Diego temple but unfortunately for us it was closed for renovations. I thought maybe we could go to a park and get pictures done but KK got carsick and threw up all over herself. Luckily she didn't have her dress on but she was rather wet with puke and I didn't want to put her dress on her after that.

Once we got home it was freezing! We had one day where it was sunny and above freezing so we roughed it and did our best to get some good pictures before KK froze to death. She was quite the trooper!

Look closely and you can see snow and ice right beside her!

Blakely Madness

 Week 1:

Week 2:

Week 3:

We only had one game this week. The other team said they didn't have enough players to play us.

Week 4:

Blakely had a great 1st game and she only played about 10 minutes the entire game (games are 40 minutes total). I'm not gonna lie, it was super annoying and frustrating. Her coach said she wanted to give the other girls who don't play as much, some playing time. I get that. Blakely plays almost the entire game most games but I thought it was funny/ironic that the coach's daughter (the all star on the team) got plenty of playing time during that same game. It should have been her daughter on the bench and not Blakely.

This video is sideways...and I missed the beginning of Blakely's shot. oops! She did make it though!

Week 5:
I think they called her for traveling but it was a good look and it would have been a great basket!

Week 6:
Again we only had 1 game this week because the same team as before didn't want to travel about an hour to get beat! REALLY!?!
Not sure that should have counted but we'll take it!

Blakely ended up fouling out of this game!

Week 7: Tournament
We came into the tournament as the number one seed. The coaches daughter hurt herself earlier in the week and came to the game in a wheel chair. Needless to say we didn't do too well. We actually didn't do that bad but our shots were not falling. It's hard to win a game if you can't score!

We won the first game against the only team that kept canceling on us. We lost the second game because our shots wouldn't go in. Since we lost we had to play right after our second game. The girls were so tired! I don't like the way they did the tournament this year. In the past years they would have them play one game Friday night and then if you won on Friday, you were guaranteed two games on Saturday. I think three games in one day is too much. However, I might think differently if we had to travel 45+ minutes one way both days to play. We've always lucked out and had the tournaments in Twin Falls.

San Diego Dec. 2024-Jan. 2025

Dec. 30th:
Surfing, sea lions and tide pools

Dec. 31st:
Surfing and Sea World

Jan. 1:
Surfing and checking out Belmont

Poor Eden wasn't feeling well.

KK and Blakely wanted to go for a walk with Nathan and me to check out the boardwalk. They still had Christmas decorations up.

We found my maiden name on one of the street signs!

Nathan and the kids pictured took surf lessons for four days! I signed up for two days but our second day got cut short due to the waves being too rough. I was hoping Dyer would want to do the last two days but he was upset we weren't going to Hawaii so he was determined to not have fun on this vacation. I guess it worked out because we needed someone to stay with Eden. He was more than happy to do that as long as he got to watch football the whole time! KK had to be in 2 wet suits because it was so cold! Her lips were turning blue and she was shivering so much. My toes were so numb by the end of our first lesson!

I can't tell if it is Nathan or Easton but I think it it is Easton.

This is where she falls on her board.

Poor KK biffed it the last 20 minutes of her lesson and went nose first into her board. Needless to say the board won and KK got a bloody nose.

I was worried that she wouldn't want to go back out the next day but she did! You could tell she was a little timid though.

Blair got a hole in one on the last hole. She got a $5 arcade card.

Jan 3rd:
San Diego Zoo

Poor KK was ready to go. I really wanted to go on the gondola. I mean a trip to San Diego Zoo is not complete without going on the gondola. I figured we would have enough time to ride up and then turn around and ride back. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. We should have been fine but they closed the line down 2 minutes early so we had to walk all the way back. Lame!

On the bright side I was able to have Easton and Blair reenact a picture I took of them probably 13 years earlier. They are such good sports!

Jan 4: Legoland
We were only able to stay for a few hours because we needed to get to the airport for our return trip home.

Eden cracks me up!
