KK turns 7!

KK had to wait all day to celebrate her birthday.  Easton and Blair had their Robotics state tournament that day in Boise so we waited for them to get home.

Because I hurt my wrist snowboarding I wasn't sure how well I could make her a cake so I bought one instead.

KK had her Mermaid birthday party a week later at the city pool.  I wanted to wait another week (we had so much going on the last part of Feb) but the pool was closing down for renovations and so I was forced to do it a week earlier than planned.

One of the mom's was kind enough to take some pictures for me!

With Blair's help we made Mermaid cupcakes for her party.

KK seemed like she had a blast and she definitely got spoiled rotten by her friends!

Blair will probably kill me if she ever sees this...
I find that I have to sneak to get her on camera because she won't ever sing on camera for me.

Haha! It was a little electrifying that day!

Senior recognition

Blair did Robotics this year with Easton.  Easton tried to get her to do cross country with him and then tried again with track but he didn't have any luck.  I think Blair only did it to make Easton happy and hang out with him. I doubt she will do it again next year but we'll see.

For Valentines day both Blakely and KK decided to get ring pops for their class.  I didn't realize that they were the tongue painters!  Oops!  Hopefully parents don't hate us!

I signed KK up for tumbling and Eden up for gymnastics.

Preschool R is for Rockets!

January 2024

So remember when I said pay attention to her hair because in a couple weeks it would be completely different?

Another picture to show the length...
Look how long and pretty her hair was!
This was taken on Christmas-exactly one week before...

My Christmas gift from Nathan was a new bedroom set.  On New Years day we decided to finally take down our old one and put together the new one.  We were busy with that most of the day so Eden wasn't being watched as closely as she apparently should have been.  At one point we were bringing boxes out of our room to store in the computer room and Nathan found her snipping away at her hair!!!  She totally had it all planned out because she grabbed scissors from her preschool backpack and had a bowl from the kitchen she was putting her hair in...

She was so mad at us!  I think she was upset that she didn't get to finish what she started but to be honest I'm not sure why she was the one that was mad.  I mean we didn't even yell at her.  I think we were all too shocked!  Some of us may have laughed but that's about it!

How do you like the mullet?!?

Her reasoning: "I didn't like my hair in my face!"

Okay, cool!  Next time just ask me to put it up in a ponytail!

Me: Do we cut our hair?
Eden: yep!
Me: Wrong answer!
Nathan: Only mommy cuts your hair, right?
Eden with pursed lips and a very long blink and side eye doesn't say anything...
Blair: Eden, are you going to cut your hair again?
Eden: yep!

She's not wrong either because 2 1/2 months later during Spring break, when I was out snowboarding, she got a hold of scissors and did it again...luckily it was only a little chunk of her bangs, but still!

Heaven help us!

After the spring break incident she claims that she won't cut her hair again but I guess only time will tell!

Her haircut turned out better than I thought it would.  I was a little nervous to do it myself but honestly I'm not sure I could have done any worse than what she did herself. Here she is mullet free!

I took her the next day to get her ears pierced because Dyer kept telling her she looked like a boy!  Nathan thinks that I rewarded her for cutting her hair but if he was there to see and hear her, I think he would agree that it was more of a punishment than a reward.

Claires was having a deal that if you get your ears pierced you get free earrings every month for a whole year (under $17 every month)!

Beau got some BYU gear!

Like Father like son?!?  Haha!

Nathan says that Eden's haircut reminds him of Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber.  I almost cried when he said that but unfortunately he's probably not wrong!  I couldn't even it out completely because she cut it so short in the front.  I guess I could have if I wanted to shave her head super short.  Instead I took the longest short piece I could find and evened it out as best I could from there.  Eden definitely doesn't leave the house without a headband/bow/clip in her hair.

Eden wanted to go play in the snow...I guess boots are the only necessary thing when it comes to playing in the snow!

Blair started Driver's Ed!  She was not happy about it and complained every single day!  I told her she didn't have a choice because Easton was leaving and I wasn't going to drive her to and from school everyday. She even went as far to say that she would ride the bus or walk to and from school everyday.  Haha!  I doubt that would have lasted more than a couple days!  If everything works out perfectly, she should get her license about a week before school starts! Yay!

Look how much snow we got!

Eden got sick and all she wanted to do was take a nap right next to the fireplace!

KK lost her 2nd tooth (Jan 17th).  Too bad she didn't lose both her front teeth a month earlier- just in time for Christmas...

Today is May 4th and her front teeth still are not showing signs of coming in...Her dentist said it could take up to a year before they come in!  So strange!  I'm starting to wonder if she'll be singing "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth" in 6 months!  The two teeth next to her front teeth are a little loose...Can you imagine what she will look like with all four of her teeth missing?!?  I'm pretty sure all my other kids' adult teeth came in behind their baby teeth so they didn't have a gap for very long!  This is so different!
