Blakely turns 6!

Blakely had a great birthday!  She was so excited to go to school and celebrate her birthday with her classmates.  We didn't do a party for Blakely this year mainly because she couldn't remember anyone's name in her class to invite...I was thinking that we might do a half birthday party for her but fast forward to today (Mar. 29th which is just after her half birthday) and we are dealing with Covid-19!  The kids have been out of school for two weeks now and won't be going back until May 1st at the very earliest.  Everyone is to shelter in place which means no party!  So crazy!

Hiking and Picking Blackberries!

We actually went two weekends in a row (first two weeks in September).  The first week we went for a hike but when we realized that there were tons of blackberries we went back the following weekend to pick blackberries.

We saw this huge spider.
Dyer who generally loves spiders was even afraid to get near it.  In fact I'm pretty sure he ran away once I showed it to him.

We ended up making jam and blackberry lemon curd!  So good!

Train ride for KK and other random things

McKinley was excited to finally ride the train!  She asks every time she sees the train.  We tried the  week before but they were closing and weren't doing anymore rides.  She was heart broken.

One of Dyer's favorite things to do/say.

Dyer had to take a hike for cub scouts

Hiking at Pena Adobe

Easton needed to do a 5 mile hike for scouts.  We all hiked into the park together but then Nathan and Easton hiked up the hill while the other kids played at the park and ate a snack.  The park wasn't that big so eventually the kids got bored and went exploring for a while.  They ended up chasing geese and throwing rocks/sticks into the water.   The kids got tired of that so we decided to hike and meet up with Nathan and Easton.

Dyer's first cub scout pack meeting

Dyer was so excited to start cub scouts.  It's too bad that he only gets about 4 months before the church does away with the program.

Easton was there too but he was too busy reading his book to make a rocket.

McKinley

McKinley loves going to the park and swinging.

McKinley loves being a baby and Blair enjoys playing babies with McKinley.
Blair also enjoys stealing my phone and taking pictures.  These actually turned out pretty good!

While the kids were at school Nathan, McKinley and I took a little road trip.  We made the mistake of taking a more scenic route and McKinley was upset that Nathan's driving was making her stomach hurt.  Like I've said before she isn't a thrill seeker!

Park time!

Happy 15th Anniversary to us!

Valerie was kind enough to watch the kids so Nathan and I could escape for the weekend.  We went to Safari West.

Our tent overlooked a bunch of animals

This little dude woke us up super early!

We had a great time!  The kids would have enjoyed the Safari trip.  Maybe we'll have to go back and bring the kids next time.
